In celebration of Richard F. Wilson's inauguration, the Illinois Wesleyan Chamber Singers will appear in concert at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, in Evelyn Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Chamber Singers will open the program with motets by William Byrd and Johannes Brahms. The remainder of the concert will consist of secular choral music by British and American composers, featuring the suite of Choral Dances from Benjamin Britten's opera Gloriana, a suite of Sea Chanteys by Sydney Hodkinson, and Two Japanese Proverbs by Gary Kent Walth. The concert will close with delightful part songs by Charles Villiers Stanford.
