Notre Dame - Embrasures

The embrasures of the main portal bear images of the apostles. This statuary was created in the 19th century by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, one of the principal architects of the Gothic revival, to replace sculptures destroyed during the Revolution and whose design was irrevocably lost.
