Courses Taught
(My Research Interests page is here)
The following are "Course Information" pages from all of the Physics
courses I have taught so far at IWU. I have chosen the most recent
pre-pandemic version of those pages (to avoid the special instructions
that applied during the pandemic-affected semesters).
General
Physics 1 and 2 (PHYS 101 and 102), 2015-2016: Algebra-based
introductory physics sequence, usually taken by life science
(e.g. Biology) majors
Fundamental
Astronomy (PHYS 110), spring 2019: A course designed for
students not majoring in the sciences
Physics III:
Modern Physics (PHYS 207), fall 2011: A
course required of second-year Physics majors
Intermediate
Experimental Methods (PHYS 301, previously PHYS 299), spring
2015: An elective taken by second-/third-year Physics majors
Mathematical
Methods for the Physical Sciences (PHYS 304), spring 2018: A
course required of second-year Physics majors
Electronics
(PHYS 305), fall 2015: An elective taken by Physics and DTE majors
Introduction to
Astronomy and Astrophysics (PHYS 310), fall 2018: An elective
taken by Physics and majors, especially those fulfilling the
Astrophysics concentration
Introductory Cosmology (PHYS 370), fall 2019: An elective
taken by Physics and majors, especially those fulfilling the
Astrophysics concentration
Experimental Physics (PHYS 399), May 2019: An elective
with a lab component taken by Physics and majors; used to be a
major requirement in the past.
Introduction to
Quantum Mechanics (PHYS 407), spring 2013: A course taken by
most physics majors with Senior standing
