IWU Common Data Set

The Common Data Set (CDS) is a collaborative effort between the higher education community and publishers to improve the quality and accuracy of publicly available information on colleges and universities as well as to reduce the reporting burden on colleges. Questions and definitions used by the U.S. Department of Education in its college surveys are a guide in the development of CDS items. Common Data Set items undergo broad review by many constituencies before being adopted.

Each year's Common Data Set begins with General Information about the institution--information which changes very little from year to year; current statistics and other descriptive data follow and are updated annually. The links to the right provide access to Illinois Wesleyan's Common Data Set results for recent academic years. These statistics can be considered authoritative because they have been verified by the administrative offices responsible for maintaining accurate records in the subject area before being posted on the Web site.

Please direct inquiries about the IWU's Common Data Set to Mona Gardner, Director of Institutional Research and Planning, at 309/556-3760 or by e-mail to mgardner@iwu.edu.
