Video clip of Milnesium tardigradum, previously the only known species in this genus in North America. Tardigrades use their legs, which usually have either sticky toes or claws, to hold on to vegetation or soil particles in their environment. When dislodged, they actively seek a new holdfast (as this animal is doing here). This animal is about 1 mm in length.
