LIA ANDERSON, freshman, Galesburg (HS)

PERSONAL: Amelia Leigh Anderson…Born 6-29-89…High school coach: Evan Massey…Earned four letters in basketball and swimming and three in soccer while at Galesburg High School, a perennial standout in Western Big 6…Academic all-conference in basketball as a senior…Majoring in business administration at Illinois Wesleyan…She is the daughter of Marty (former Titan football player) and Lynn Viehweg Anderson, who lettered twice in women’s basketball at IWU in the mid-70s.


STACEY ARLIS, freshman, Glendale Heights (Driscoll Catholic HS)

PERSONAL: Stacey Elizabeth Arlis…Born 2-10-89…High school coach: Steve McCuiston…All-Suburban Conference selection in three sports and academic all-conference all four years…Earned four letters in basketball and softball and three in volleyball for the Lady Highlanders…Undecided on college major…She is the daughter of Patrick and Diane Arlis.


SARAH BULL, senior, Lewistown (HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN: Has earned one letter…2006-07: Was team’s second leading scorer (15.2) and her 394 points is 10th best in an IWU season…She made 54 3-pointers, fourth most in a Titan season…Led team in scoring 10 times…Had season highs of 26 points (Eureka), 7 rebounds (Carthage), and  eight assists (Augstana)…Missed two games with sprained ankle midseason.  PERSONAL: Sarah Kathleen Bull…Born 2-15-86… Transferred to IWU from Carl Sandburg College, where she was second team all-region and second team all-Arrowhead Conference…High school coach: Greg Bennett…Fourth team all-state as a senior…First team all-conference two seasons and second team Peoria Journal Star all-area as a senior…Fulton County Democrat “Player of the Year”…Lady Tigers’ top defensive player as a senior…Named to several all-tournament teams…Majoring in business administration/marketing at IWU…She is the daughter of Jim and Kathy Bull.


COLLEEN CAPLICE, junior, Western Springs (Lyons Township HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN: Has earned one letter…2006-07: Played in all 28 games and averaged 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds…Was team’s leading rebounder in five games including CCIW tournament game vs. Millikin…Had season highs of 15 points (Robert Morris), 11 rebounds (Emory) and three assists (Emory)…2005-06: Played in nine varsity games and scored two points on free throws with nine rebounds…PERSONAL: Born 1-5-87…High school coach: Dawn Schabacker…Earned three letters in basketball and four in track in high school…Was all-conference as a junior and senior and team captain as a senior…Undecided on college major at IWU…National Honor Society…High school teammate of IWU’s Mallory Heydorn and Becky Kiverts…She is the daughter of Birdie and Bill Caplice…She is a cousin of former IWU men's basketball players Jeff and Steve Kuehl.


SARAH COTNER, freshman, Washington (HS)

PERSONAL: Sarah Elizabeth Cotner…Born 3-4-89…Missed entire senior season after suffering torn anterior cruciate ligament…Was all-Mid-Illini conference selection two seasons and two times was chosen to Peoria Manual all-tournament team,,,High school coach: Randy Marchand…Earned three letters in basketball and volleyball…President National Honor Society and IHSA scholastic achievement award winner…Majoring in chemistry…She is the daughter of James and Laura Cotner.


CRYSTAL DYE, senior, Springfield (Southeast HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN: Has earned three letters and serves as co-captain for 2007-08 team…Enters season No. 24 all-time at IWU with 307 career rebounds…2006-07: Starter in all 28 games…Led team in scoring once and in rebounds 11 times, including four of last seven games…Had season highs of 21 points (Elmhurst), 12 rebounds (Augustana), and 4 assists (Elmhurst)…Chosen as “Defensive Player of the Year” for second time in career…2005-06: Played in only nine games, starting six, and averaged 6.0 points and 4.6 rebounds…Also averaged more than two assists and steals per game…2004-05: Named team's “Defensive Player of the Year”…Played in all 27 games and started 14…Had highs of 18 points and 13 rebounds (in OT loss at Millikin) and five assists (Baruch)… Scored in double figures six times…2003-04: Missed the entire season after undergoing knee surgery in December 2003. PERSONAL: Crystal Nichelle Dye...Born 10-3-84...Four year letterwinner and Central State Eight “Player of the Year” and all-state as a senior when she averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game...Special mention on Chicago Tribune all-state team and honorable mention Champaign News-Gazette team...High school coach: Mario Borders...Honorable mention all-state in volleyball and state qualifier in track events... Anthropology major with a Spanish minor...Also a letterwinner in volleyball at IWU...Daughter of Betsy Dye and Robert Dye.


KERRI GRAVLIN, senior, Metamora (HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN – Has earned one letter…2006-07: Winner of team's "All-American Titan" honor, bestowed for sportsmanship, integrity, leadership and overall responsibility to basketball success…Played in all 28 games, averaging 13.3 minutes…Had season highs of seven points (twice), six rebounds (Elmhurst), and two assists (twice)…2005-06: Played an average of 3.7 minutes in 13 varsity games and scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds…2004-05: Knee injury kept her sidelined her entire freshman season. PERSONAL: Born 1-6-86…High school coach: Kathy Wainman…Earned three letters in basketball and four in soccer in high school…Earned second team all-conference honors in both sports…Majoring in business at IWU and was IWU’s College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin “Jack Swartz Award” winner in 2006-07 for winter sports academic excellence…Salutatorian of her high school class…She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Dean and Diane Gravlin…An Academic All-American at IWU, Dean was a Titan basketball standout from 1969-73 and is still No. 29 in career scoring (1178) and No. 18 in rebounds (509) at the school.


HOLLY HARVEY, freshman, Chicago (Fenwick HS)

PERSONAL: Holly Ann Harvey…Born 3-10-89…High school coach: Evan Power…Averaged six points and was second in assists for the Oak Park Fenwick team that won the Illinois Class AA state championship in 2007, posting a 36-2 record…Earned four letters in basketball for the Friars and is an outstanding defensive player with good quickness…Honorable mention all-area (Pioneer Press)…Majoring in biology at IWU with a pre-physical therapy concentration…She is the daughter of Ronald and Denice Harvey.


MALLORY HEYDORN, junior, LaGrange (Lyons Township HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN – Has earned two letters and will serve as co-captain of 2007-08 team… After two seasons, Heydorn is No. 27 in career scoring at IWU with 715 points and No. 6 with 136 3-pointers, closing in on the 3-point career mark of 171 (Traci Butler, 1992-96)…2006-07: First team all-CCIW selection and a second team all-Central region choice…Suffered broken thumb on her right (shooting) hand on Feb. 15 and didn’t play in two final regular season games or CCIW tournament games…Led team in scoring 10 times and in rebounding four games…Averaged a team-high 17.1 points and made a school record 85 3-pointers… Her 410 points is tied for sixth most in an IWU season…Set a school and CCIW record with 11 3-point field goals at Augustana (Feb. 14)…Had season highs of 37 points (Augustana), nine rebounds (Oglethorpe), and eight assists (Augustana)… The 37 points is the third most in an IWU single game, behind Lila Nafziger (45 vs. Eureka, 1979-80) and Sara Seebruch (39 vs. North Central on Jan. 16, 1999)…2005-06: Second team all-CCIW player as freshman as she finished eighth in scoring and fifth in assists and 3-point field goal percentage in the league…Had highs of 23 points (Elmhurst), nine rebounds (Carthage) and eight assists (Augustana)…Was team’s leading scorer in five games…Her 51 3-pointers is fourth most in a season and No. 14 in an IWU career after only one year…PERSONAL: Born 11-5-86…High school coach: Dawn Schabacker…Earned four letters in basketball and two in badminton for the Lions…Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-state player…Chosen all-area and all-conference and was her team's MVP as well as two-year team captain…Undecided on college major at IWU…National Honor Society…High school teammate of Colleen Caplice and Becky Kiverts…She is the daughter of Allan Heydorn and Ursula Szwast.


JESSICA HINTERLONG, freshman, Batavia (HS)

PERSONAL: Jessica Ann HInterlong…Born 12-18-88…High school coach: Tim DeBruycker…Earned two letters in basketball and one in volleyball for the Lady Bulldogs…Earned honorable mention all-Suburban Prairie Conference in basketball and was team’s captain…Academic all-conference in volleyball and basketball…Majoring in English and Spanish at Illinois Wesleyan…She is the daughter of Jack and Gail Hinterlong…Her grandfather, Bob Grant, is a former IWU basketball player.


NIKKI PRESTON, freshman, Prospect Heights (Wheeling HS)

PERSONAL: Nicole A. Preston…Born 9-9-88…High school coach: Shelly Wiegel…Can play anywhere from point guard to small forward…All-Mid-Suburban East Conference selection in basketball and was two-year Daily Herald all-area selection…Was Wildcats’ team captain as a senior…Earned four letters in basketball and two in volleyball at Wheeling… Majoring in biology…Academic all-state team as a senior…She is the daughter of Bob and Cindy Preston.


THEA ROGERS, senior, Hoffman Estates, Ill. (Oak Park-River Forest HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN – Has earned three letters…2006-07: Started all 27 games in which she played…Her 32 blocked shots is a school season record…Led team in scoring once and in rebounding four times, including NCAA Division III playoff game vs, Carroll…Had season highs of 16 points (vs. Carroll in NCAA Division III tournament game), eight rebounds (twice), and five assists (at Millikin)…2005-06: Played in all 27 games and started three…Averaged 1.7 points and 2.1 rebounds, playing 15.9 minutes per game…Solid defensive player, she was second on team with 19 blocked shots and was sixth with 14 steals…2004-05: Played in all 27 games and started eight as a freshman…Averaged 15.4 minutes per game and had highs of 10 points at North Central, eight rebounds (at North Park and vs. MacMurray)…PERSONAL: Thea Jeanine Rogers... ELYSE SANCHEZ, senior, Chicago (St. Benedict HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN – Has earned two letters…2006-07: Played in 27 games averaging 7.3 minutes per game…Had season highs of seven points (Eureka), four rebounds (Blackburn), and three assists (Robert Morris)…2005-06: Averaged 1.3 minutes playing in four varsity games…Had one rebound, one assist and one block…Also played in IWU junior varsity games…2004-05: Averaged 5.2 minutes playing in five games as a freshman…Scored her only two points against Fontbonne and snared two rebounds in conference game at Elmhurst…PERSONAL: Elyse M. Sanchez...Born 4-1-86...Earned four letters in basketball and cross country and two in softball in high school...Was team's co-MVP, winner of “Coach's Award” and “Rookie of the Year” as a freshman...Was “Most Improved Player” for softball...High school coach: Chris Ford...Majoring in elementary education at IWU...Daughter of Sylvia and Pedro Sanchez.


HOPE SCHULTE, freshman, Hillsboro (HS)

PERSONAL: Hope Danielle Schulte…Born 12-7-88…High school coach: Bret Tultken…Starter on the Hiltoppers’ 2006 Illinois Class A state championship team and scored 17 in 44-43 title game win over Okawville…Scored 1,959 points in career and was team’s “MVP” three seasons…Averaged 17.8 points as a senior…First team all-state two years and was also selected to all-state teams chosen by Champaign News-Gazette, Chicago Sun-Times…Earned four letters in basketball and three in soccer and volleyball while at Hillsboro and was first team all-South Central Conference selection…Salutatorian of her high school class…Majoring in biology with a pre-physical therapy concentration at Illinois Wesleyan…She is the daughter of Mike and Kim Schulte.


CLAIRE SHEEHAN, junior, St. Charles (East HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN – Has earned two letters and heads into 2007-08 season No. 34 in career scoring at IWU with 561 points and has 77 career 3-pointers, making her No. 13 at IWU all-time…2006-07: Second team all-conference selection as she was fifth in free throw percentage (.830) and sixth in 3-pointers per game (1.29). …Starter in all 28 games… Was IWU’s leading scorer in seven games and top rebounder in three…Had 21 points and 11 rebounds in win at North Park on Jan. 20…Had season highs of 23 points (Robert Morris), 11 rebounds (North Park), and six assists (twice)…2005-06: Played in 26 games and started 12 as a freshman… Had highs of 22 points (North Central), seven rebounds (twice) and four assists (North Park)…Her 26 3-pointers is 30th most in an IWU season…Finished second in the CCIW in free throw accuracy (.837) and 3-point field goal percentage (.450)…PERSONAL: Claire Therese Sheehan…Born 2-3-87…High school coach: Lori Drumtra… Illinois Basketball Coaches Association all-state player…Was an all-area and all-conference selection and team's MVP as a senior…Served as team captain for two seasons…Earned four letters in basketball, two in volleyball and one in soccer in high school…Majoring in biology at IWU…Valedictorian of high school class…National Honor Society and academic all-conference…She is the daughter of Jane and Tim Sheehan.


CHRISTINA SOLARI, sophomore, Park Ridge (Maine South HS)

AT ILLINOIS WESLEYAN – 2006-07: Talented post player suffered season-ending knee injury after playing only three games…Had season highs of 15 points, 16 rebounds and four assists, all coming against DePauw in the second game of the season…The 16 rebounds is tied for fourth most in an IWU single game…PERSONAL: Christina Rose Solari…Born 2-16-86…High school coach: Mark Smith…Three-time all-state selection ranging from honorable mention as a sophomore to third team as a senior…Played in IHSA All-Star game at Shirk Center in 2006…Three-time all-Central Suburban South Conference selection…Earned three letters in basketball and two more in volleyball and softball at Maine South…Majoring in secondary education at IWU…She is the daughter of John and Sandy Solari.
