Daniel Klotzbach Named Vice President for Business and Finance

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan University has named Daniel P. Klotzbach as its vice president for business and finance, effective June 1, 2004.

Klotzbach is currently vice president for business and finance at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisc. He will succeed Kenneth C. Browning, who is retiring from Illinois Wesleyan after 23 years at the University.

"Ken Browning has been a vital part of the dynamic growth at Illinois Wesleyan for more than two decades, and we will miss him," said Janet McNew, acting president. "Dan Klotzbach will bring a wealth of enthusiasm and energy as well as experience at an institution that has made impressive gains during his time there."

Klotzbach earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and his M.B.A. from St. Bonaventure University. He began his career in higher education at Houghton College in New York where he was controller and accounting manager for 10 years. He also served as vice president for business affairs at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee before becoming vice president at Edgewood in 1997.

At Edgewood, Klotzbach has been responsible for the college’s budget, investments, insurance and risk management, business office, physical plant, human resources, food service, environmental health and safety, bookstore, and campus assistance center. He was also integrally involved in the financing and construction of two major facilities, the Sonderegger Science Center and the Henry J. Predolin Humanities Center.

Browning joined Illinois Wesleyan in 1981 as business manager. A St. Louis native and a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he had been vice provost at Grinnell College before coming to Illinois Wesleyan.
