Illinois Wesleyan Celebrates Ruoti's 40 Years

Illinois Wesleyan will hold a campus-wide celebration for Jim Ruoti who will complete a 40-year tenure as dean of admissions this year and move into a new position as dean emeritus.

The reception will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Hansen Student Center.

Ruoti, a 1963 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan, has been associated with the University's admissions effort since his graduation, serving as a counselor, then director, and finally the first dean.

In his new role as dean emeritus, Ruoti will work to develop a formal network of alumni to assist in University admissions and alumni efforts.

Jerry Pope, currently an associate dean of admissions, has been named to succeed Ruoti as dean.
