Event: Concert: Illinois Wesleyan University Jazz Ensemble, senior night

Location: Westbrook Auditorium, Presser Hall, 1210 Park St., Bloomington
Program: The concert will feature the premiere performance of a piece by David Vayo, professor of composition and theory, called Reach and Cliché composed by A.J. Robb, a senior music composition major from Mt. Prospect, Ill. and current member of the Jazz Ensemble.
There will be solo performances by IWU seniors: Barak Berman, a computer science major from Niles, Ill.; Brett Dean, a music education major from Beecher, Ill.; Kristin Gregory, an English major from Carbondale, Ill.; Renju Mathew, a psychology major from Bolingbrook, Ill.; A.J. Robb, a senior music composition major from Mt. Prospect, Ill.; and Jessica Ryan, a music education major from Albertville, Minn.
Other selections will be from the works of Duke Ellington, John Coltrane and Count Basie.
Background: The ensemble has been under the direction of Thomas Streeter, IWU professor of brass instruments and theory, since 1971. Members of the ensemble include both music and non-music majors.
