Event: Organ Recital featuring Illinois Wesleyan University Emeritus Trustee Sidney G. Smith

Free and open to the public

Background: Dr. Sidney G. Smith, a retired pediatrician from Carbondale, Ill., and an accomplished organist will perform selections from Bach, Mozart, Max Reger, and Alice Jordan on the Alice and Frank B. Jordan Organ in the Evelyn Chapel. Smith, a 1960 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan, retired in May as a member of the University’s Board of Trustees. In addition to having been named Pediatrician of the Year by the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Smith has been an active member of the Southern Illinois Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
