Date: Oct. 9 (Wednesday)

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Background: Kadiatou Diallo is the mother of Amaduo Diallo, an African student who was killed in February, 1999, in New York City. Unarmed, Diallo’s son was shot to death by four police officers who were investigating a rape. The officers fired 41 shots at Amaduo, hitting him with 19 bullets. A year after the shooting, the officers were acquitted of murder charges.

Diallo will speak about the tragic loss of her son and the issues of racial profiling and police brutality. She will describe her frustration with the American justice system and hopes to raise awareness on these issues.
