Background: Susan Werner is returning to The Blue Moon Coffee House for the seventh time as part of a tour to support her critically acclaimed CD, New Non Fiction. Werner, who writes her own songs on piano and guitar, is musically influenced by artists such as Jacques Brel, Joni Mitchell, Thelonius Monk, Sting, and Nanci Griffith. According to her fans, she has a songwriting language all her own and a command of the stage that makes her one of the most riveting performers on the acoustic circuit. Werners songs range from pop/rock to folk ballads to cabaret. She is an Iowa native with a masters degree in classical voice from Temple University in Philadelphia. Rachael Davis has been singing onstage since she was two years old. Her musical influences range from the jazz stylings of Ella Fitzgerald to the soulful pop vocals of Patty Griffin. She is a contemporary songwriter, who sings everything from traditional ballads to Cole Porter and Joe Henry. Davis fans see her as a bold explorer in the undefined and powerful territory of her primary instrument: her own human voice, and the stories that come through it.
