EVENT: Honors Day Convocation

DATE: April 16, 2003 (Wednesday)

TIME: 11 a.m.

LOCATION: Westbrook Auditorium, Presser Hall, 1210 Park Street, Bloomington

ADMISSIONS: Free, open to the public

BACKGROUND: Carolyn Nadeau, associate professor of Spanish, will receive the 2003 The Pantagraph Award for Teaching Excellence and will present a speech entitled "The Paths That Lead." The $1,000 teacher-scholar award is Illinois Wesleyan’s top teaching honor. The honoree is selected by IWU’s Promotion and Tenure Committee based on nominations received from members of the faculty. The award recognizes teaching, scholarship, and service. Nadeau, who joined the IWU faculty in 1994, received her doctorate from Penn State University. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia (1985) and a master’s degree from New York University (1989).

The winner of the 2004 Pantagraph Award for Teaching Excellence will be announced as will other year-end honors and awards.
