Event: University Chapel Hour and Special Events presents: A Chapel of Buddhist Meditation and Chanting

Background: Presented by the University Chaplains Office and the Southeast Asian Student Foundation of Illinois Wesleyan, the chapel hour will display Buddhist meditation and chanting rituals, and will be led by the Venerable Sankichcha and the Venerable Sathindriya of the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple in Cary, Ill.
The Venerable Sankichcha was ordained as a novice monk in 1991 and received full ordination in 1996. A monk for twelve years, he served the Buddhist teaching in Australia from 1997 to 2001.
The Venerable Sathindriya was born in Sri Lanka in 1974. He was ordained a novice monk in 1995 and received full ordination in 1997. After teaching in Sri Lanka for two years, he moved to the United States in 1999 to share the teachings with the western world.
