Event: Illinois Wesleyan University’s Blue Moon Coffeehouse presents: Singer/songwriters Kristina Olsen and Dave Moore

Background:
A multitalented instrumentalist (acoustic guitar, steel-body slide guitar, saxophone, concertina and piano), Kristina Olsen performs her jazz-inspired songs and bottleneck blues in the troubadour tradition. She is also known for strong and honest vocals, deliberate acoustic compositions and meaningful lyrics.

Born and raised in the San Francisco area during the 1960's, Olsen’s approach to music and life was formed by an environment of vital cultural expression, social activism and diverse musical influences. In the previous six years she has released four critically acclaimed CDs.

Dave Moore performs on guitar, button accordion, harmonica, and vocals. Alongside his original songs, he plays blues, Tex/Mex accordion, and even a few children’s songs written during his time as an artist-in-residence in the schools of Iowa during the 1980s.

Moore’s compact disc Over My Shoulder was named one of the top ten folk albums of 1990 by Pulse Magazine.
