A $2-million gift from Tom O. Hansen, IWU class of 1982, and his family spearheaded the student-center project.

Hansen, a business-administration graduate, is chief-executive officer of Kentucky-based ACCENT Marketing Services. He held several high-level positions with General Electric before founding ACCENT.

Hansen received IWU's Oustanding Young Alumni Award in 1998. He also was named 1998 "Entrepreneur of the Year" in the service industry for the Kentucky / Indiana Region, and Inc. Magazine has recognized ACCENT as one of the nation's fastest growing companies.

His family includes wife, Kathleen, and children: Matthew, Christian, and Patrick.
