Among the elect we recognize (rt. frame) two pilgrims. One bears on his traveling bag the cross of Jerusalem, the other the cockle shell of the shrine of St. James the major at Compostella. Along with Rome, these two cities formed the premier pilgrimage sites of the medieval Christian west.
