Anne Heaton

It was in the middle of the night in Vancouver, at a Folk Alliance, that I first heard Anne Heaton and knew immediately that she had to play the Blue Moon Coffeehouse. Anne Heaton's love for her craft and for her audience is apparent in every stage gesture, every funny aside, and every stanza of every song. It is rare to see an artist entrance a room of listeners the way Heaton does-she magically brings the listener to another level. Heaton is a classically trained pianist who dabbled as a front woman vocalist in college rock bands. Now as a performing songwriter, Monica Kendrick of the Chicago Reader calls Heaton "a new age Ricki Lee Jones." According to Chris Smith, former writer for Performing Songwriter, "Heaton is one of the finest writers and performers I've come across in years - she is one of the standards by which I measure talent in the New York music community." Crrently, Anne is touring in support of her latest release, Black Notebook. To learn more about Anne Heaton, point your browser to: www.anneheaton.com
