Web Backgrounds

For this project you're going to experiment with creating web backgrounds.

  1. Find several images that you think might make a good background.
  2. Create Offset backgrounds. To do this, modify the images as we did in class until you think they're acceptable as backgrounds. Use ImageReady to optimize the background and save the html file.

AT THE SAME TIME that you're designing your background, create a document in a text editor of your choice that describes the steps you used, and evaluates your background image. (Why do you think it makes a good background).

Bring the html into dreamweaver and insert some text and a small image into the file, so that we can evaluate the background.

Attach your process description or copy it. Also include the url.

Create two different offset backgrounds following the steps outlined above.

Tiled and Kaleideiscopic Backgrounds

Pick a new image or images. Follow the steps given above, but this time create a tiled background with your image. Either pick a new image or use one of your previous images, and create a kaleidscopic background.

Attach your process description or copy it. Also include the url.

Please note that you should have 4 different backgrounds with 4 descriptions.
