Sigma Alpha of Sigma Alpha Iota

The Sigma Alpha Chapter of Illinois Wesleyan University is located in Bloomington, IL. Sigma Alpha was founded on March 3, 1924, and is part of the Upsilon A province, which includes the college chapters Psi, Beta Gamma, and Lambda Mu, as well as the Alumnae chapters Peoria, Galesburg, and Bloomington/Normal.
So far this year, we've raised over $800 for various charities, including the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, the Humane Society of Central Illinois, where we've also sponsored a dog named Molly, the Dr. Campbell Memorial Piano Fund, SAI Philanthropies, Inc., the Joplin High School Music Department, which was devastated by a tornado in May, Habitat for Humanity, and the Pratt Music Foundation.
The Sigma Alpha chapter of SAI raised nearly $5,500 out of a total of over $11,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, and co-hosted a St. Baldrick's shaving event on campus with Kappa Kappa Gamma and Theta Chi. Six sisters and our faculty advisor shaved their heads to show support for children with cancer, and other sisters donated their hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.
Congratulations to our twenty amazing new initiates!
