What is the RHA Suitcase Social?
The RHA Suitcase Social is an informal dance where one lucky winner and a friend win an all-expenses paid trip to a surprise location. When the winner's name is called, he/she and his/her friend will leave immediately (a cab will be waiting for them outside) and they will be whisked away for a weekend of fun and adventure. Since they leave right away, everyone has to bring their suitcase with them to Hansen in case they win! (Hence the name "Suitcase Social.") Suitcases will be checked and secured in the Hansen TV Room (across from the Office of Student Activities), and this room will be monitored at all times during the Suitcase Social.
How do I win the trip?
Simply fill out the RHA Suitcase Social registration card and turn it in to the suitcase in Saga from during lunch and dinner. THE RHA SUITCASE SOCIAL IS A FREE EVENT! THERE IS NO REGISTRATION FEE! RHA PAYS FOR EVERYTHING! Since the Residence Hall Association obtains its funds to pay for the trip from a portion of the student activity fee only from students that live in residence halls, only students that live in residence halls will receive a registration card. You must be present the night of the Suitcase Social in order to win, so start packing your bags! Remember, you don't know where you're going, and you can't go back to your room before you leave so make sure you pack everything you think you will need!
Who can I sign up with?
You can sign up for the Suitcase Social with ANY IWU student. Only IWU students are eligible to win, and we will be checking IDs. You can definitely sign up with an IWU student who lives in a Greek chapter house or lives off-campus; however, you will only have one chance to win the registration card from the student who lives in a residence hall. If two students want to register together and both live in residence halls, both students can register, and they have 2 chances to win. Again, this trip is paid for by the student activity fee of students living in residence halls, so these students take precedence. After registering, you cannot change your "Suitcasese Partner". If you win, you must go on the trip with the person you signed up with.
What is the social?
The "Social" is an informal dance with DJ entertainment for dancing, snacks, and plenty of raffle prizes. Throughout the night, we will announce clues to the trip's destination. All correct guesses will be entered into a drawing for some great prizes that anyone is eligible to win! Anyone who does not register is welcome to come to the Social and have a great time and win raffle prizes; however only students that register to win the trip will be eligible to win the Grand Prize!
