Turkle takes on the question of multiplicity and in the process asks if being "multiple and coherent is possible?" He then continues on quoting Robert Jay Lifton who adresses the question himself with several diffent possibilities finally coming upon the fact that it is possible. Do you agree with his final deduction, one of his previous deductions, or what is your personal deduction?

While reading the Turkle chapter, there was some mention to virtual simulation. Today, virtual simulation is used in many aspects of life and training whether it be for cops, astronauts, pilots etc. These are typically associated as good ways to train and are definitely safe, but do you think simulations could get out of hand at some point? Maybe with someone who isn't training for a specific job?

Ava Story
Ava was the girl who ever losing her leg in a car crash was able to feel accepted in society again after being apart of a MUD community. At one point she says after making love on MUD she was able to make love in the real world, and that if it wasn't for the MUD it would never of been possible.

Do you guys think its healthy or right for people to become involed sexual with other people in these virtual communties?
