IWU's men's and women's soccer teams make their home at the lighted Neis (pronounced "nice") Soccer Field. The first games at Neis Field were played in August 2000. Tom and Marilyn Neis of McHenry, Ill, are 1970 and 1971 graduates of IWU, respectively, and their daughter, Melissa, is a 2002 IWU graduate with a degree in art. Another daughter, Elizabeth, played soccer at Millikin and Tom's grandmother, the late Jeanette Neis, was a 1927 Illinois Wesleyan alumna.
