Two Students Win Scholarships from National Association of Insurance Women Oct. 9, 2002 Two Illinois Wesleyan University students Amanda Reeley, a senior math major, and James Mullins, a senior public accounting major have won scholarships from the Naitonal Association of Insurance Women (NAIW). Reeley of Danville, Ill., is one of 15 recipients in the country to earn an NAIW 2001-2002 College Scholarship, which is awarded to college upperclassmen who show promise and interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry. Mullins of Normal, Ill., is one of 13 recipients in the United States to earn the NAIW 2001-2002 Professional Award of Excellence Scholarship, a $2,000 professional scholarship awarded to students who are both working in the insurance industry and enrolled at a college or university. NAIW is an association whose membership is open to people from all levels within the insurance industry who strive for and practice professionalism. While promoting mentoring, acceptance of change, and personal growth, NAIW serves its members by providing professional education. The organization believes that professional education can provide an environment in which to build business alliances as well as create opportunities to make connections with people of different career paths and levels of experience within the insurance industry. |
