Illinois Wesleyan Students Name Robert Kearney "Professor of the Year"

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan University students have named Robert Kearney, assistant professor of business administration, as "Professor of the Year" in a campus-wide vote sponsored by the Student Senate.

Kearney’s election was announced Sunday (April 18) by the Senate at its final meeting of the academic year.

A specialist in business law issues, Kearney joined the Illinois Wesleyan faculty in 2002. He earned both a bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Notre Dame where he was executive editor of the Notre Dame Law Review and won the American Jurisprudence Award in Labor Law. He also received an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Prior to joining the Illinois Wesleyan faculty, Kearney served as a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, as the labor/employment counsel for the Management Association of Illinois, and as assistant professor at the University of Illinois-Chicago and at the University of Michigan Business School.
