Living In Style: Illinois Wesleyan Hall Directors Recognized BLOOMINGTON, Ill. Matthew Damschroder, director of residential life at Illinois Wesleyan University, and Heather Murdoch, a residence hall director, recently received an award for their program entitled Martha Stewart: Living In. Damschroder and Murdoch gave the presentation recently at the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers (GLACUHO) in St. Charles, Ill. GLACUHO is a professional association of college and university housing officers throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. The hands-on presentation at the four-day conference focused on ways to make a hall directors apartment feel less like a typical college dorm room. Damshroder and Murdoch presented various techniques to change the look of a room including recovering chairs, decoupage and plant arranging. Also acknowledged at the conference were IWU hall directors Dustin DuPrey and Troy Ruland. Their program, The College Game of Life, a life-size board game dealing with financial strategies for the college student, placed within the top ten presentations at the conference. The event was part of a weeklong series of activities during the 2001-2002 academic school year at Illinois Wesleyan. Contact Chris Weber 309/556-3181
