Event: Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music presents: Senior recitals by Melanie Clevert and Kelly Pearson

Background: Performing her senior recital, Melanie Clevert, an orchestral instrument major from Glendale, Wis., will play the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Henryk Wieniawski, and William Grant Still on violin. Also a mezzo soprano, Clevert will sing works by Hall Johnson, Ira and George Gershwin, S.A. Martin, and one of her original compositions. She will be accompanied by Lecturer in Music Eva Ferguson on piano. Clevert will play the following pieces:
- Sonata No. 1 in G minor
- Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Opus 22
- Suite for Violin and Piano
- Stan Still Jordan
- Embraceable You
- His Eye is On the Sparrow
- Life
Kelly Pearson, a voice major from Northbrook, Ill., will perform the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Christoph Gluck, Robert Shumann, Camille Saint-Saens, Dominik Argento and William Bolcom for her senior recital. A soprano, Pearson also will be accompanied by Ferguson on piano. Pearson will play the following pieces:

- Mon Coeur SVoure a ta Voix
- From the Diary of Virginia Woolf
- Cabaret Songs
