Event: Funny Bone Comedy Club presents: comedian Aries Spears

Date: Nov. 16, 2002 (Saturday)

Time: 8:00 p.m.

Location: Hansen Student Center, 300 E. Beecher St., Bloomington

Admission: Free, open to the public

Background: Born in Chicago, Aries Spears discovered his comedic abilities at the age of 14 when he began doing his own comedy routine around his neighborhood. At the age of 17, Spears landed a role in the movie, “Home of Angels” (1994) and has since appeared in the films, “Jerry Maguire” (1996) and “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” (1998).

Spears’ first television appearances were on “Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam,” and “Showtime at the Apollo.” In 1992, Spears moved to Los Angeles and landed a recurring role on “A Different World,” and became a regular stand-up comedian at The Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory.

Spears is now in his fifth season as a regular on FOX’s “MAD TV.”
