Background: Willy Porter’s return engagement at the Blue Moon has been much anticipated by an audience impatient to hear and see him again. Known for the infectious joy of his concerts, Porter sometimes invites the audience to improvise a song with him.

A versatile musician, Porter builds his songs on the swivel-hips of old-school funk and rock, complex acoustic instrumentation, and the tradition of the singer/songwriter. His guitar style, while influenced by Michael Hedges and Leo Kottke, has his own sense of percussive accentuation. Porter’s latest CD is the self-titled Willy Porter.
