Background:

Henry James Young, professor of systematic theology at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Ill., is also Lieutenant Colonel Chaplain in the United States Air Force Reserve, serving as the Senior Chaplain at the 434th Air Refueling Wing Air Reserve Base, Grissom, Ind.

Young has published seven books and 20 articles in professional journals, including "Spirituality and Social Transformation: Perspectives on Wesleyan and Process Theologies" in Thy Nature & Thy Name Dialogue (Abingdon, 2001) and recently "The Kingdom of God as Context for Freedom and Liberation" in Politics and Faith in a Relational Age. He is presently completing a new book, A Postmodern Theology of Culture and Race. Young has been a guest lecturer at over 40 colleges, universities, and seminaries and is in great demand in the church as a preacher, lecturer, and consultant.
