Background: Ellis Paul, compared to Woody Guthrie by fans and critics, is hailed by the Boston Globe as “a national folk star and to many the quintessential Boston songwriter: literate, provocative, urbanely romantic.” USA Today claimed him to be a “Best Bet for Stardom,” and his records have charted the Top 5 of the CMJ and Gavin Triple-A radio polls.

Paul’s CD Sweet Mistakes was chosen by the Farrelly Brothers for the film Shallow Hal, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black (20th Century Fox). The Shallow Hal soundtrack includes Paul in the company of such artists as Sheryl Crow, Shelby Lynne, PJ Harvey, Lucinda Williams, and Neil Young.

Also performing will be Vance Gilbert. Critics claim Gilbert to be a daring new voice in contemporary acoustic music who has burst upon the folk scene with a power, force, and assurance rarely found in the acoustic music world.

Gilbert is touring in support of his latest CD, One Through Fourteen.
