Illinois Wesleyan University’s Blue Moon Coffeehouse presents: Singer/songwriter Cheryl Wheeler

Date: May 10, 2003 (Saturday)

Time: Doors open at 7:30 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m.

Location: Main Lounge, Memorial Center, 104 E. University St., Bloomington

Admission: Free and open to the public

Background:
A highly acclaimed performer, Wheeler is an extremely popular artist on the New England coffeehouse circuit. Critics hail her as “one of a handful of artists who can charm an audience regardless of their entertainment expectations, political stance or current state of affairs.”

Wheeler, who learned to play the guitar at a young age from a neighbor, performed for the first time at a hootenanny-type show when she was 12. Her first professional gigs were at the Steak and Ale Restaurant in her hometown of Timonium, Md. Wheeler performed at venues around Baltimore and Washington D.C. before moving to New England in 1976.
