Event: Guest Speaker: Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu, Sponsored by Illinois Wesleyan's Brothers Actively Bonding Through Leadership (B-ABLE) organization and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Background:

Jawanza Kunjufu is an African American motivational speaker, who is known for addressing the African-American community with inspiring lectures. His topics include black male/female relationships, economic solutions for the black community, and the concerns of raising a black child in today's society. Kunjufu is also the president of African American Images, and the executive director of the African American Images Talent Center, which develops children's talents.

Kunjufu is the author of Children are the Reward of Life, Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys, Developing Positive Self-Images in Black Children, Critical Issues in Educating African American Youth, and To Be Popular or Smart: The Black Peer Group. He is also the executive producer of the movie, "Up Against The Wall."
