Event: Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music presents: Senior recitals by Sarah Evans, Allison Harris, and Sarah Jane Nicholas

Background: Performing her senior recital, Sarah Evans, an orchestral instrument major from Peru, Ill., will play on clarinet the works of Francis Poulenc, Igor Stravinsky, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Evans will be accompanied by Lecturer in Music Ririko Hayashi on piano, and will perform the following pieces:
- Sonata for Clarinet and Piano
- Three Pieces for Solo Clarinet
- Clarinet Quintet in A
For her senior recital, Allison Harris, an orchestral instrument major from New Lenox, Ill., will play on flute the works of Franz Benda, Franz Joseph Haydn, Francois Doppler, Gordon Jacob, Eldin Burton, and Pierre Max Dubois.
Harris will be accompanied by Lecturer in Music Carol Churukian on piano, and will perform the following pieces:
- Sonata in F Major
- Sonata in C Major
- Fantaisie Pastorale Hongroise
- The Pied Piper
- Sonatina
- Quatour
Also performing her senior recital is Sarah Jane Nicholas, a voice major from Rock City, Ill. A soprano, Nicholas will sing the works of George Frideric Handel; Robert Shumann; Lee Hoiby; Lee Scott Price; Leonard Bernstein; George and Ida Gershwin; and Richard Adler and Jerry Ross.
Nicholas will be accompanied by Lecturer in Music Marcia Hishman on piano, and will perform the following pieces:
- Bel Piacere from Agrippina
- Chi Sprezzando from The Passion
- Frauenliebe und Leben
- Songs for Leontyne
- Six Haiku
- Tonight from West Side Story
- Our Love is Here to Stay
- Whatever Lola Wants from Damn Yankees
Also on Saturday, soprano Natalie Studwell will perform her senior recital at 1 p.m. and countertenor Peter Thoresen will perform his senior recital at 7:30 p.m.
