Event: Concert: Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra

Date: April 4, 2003 (Friday)

Time: A 6:45 p.m. pre-concert discussion will be hosted by Joy Calico, assistant professor of musicology, in the ballroom of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.

7:30 p.m. concert

Admission: $10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, and $1 for IWU and ISU students with a valid ID

The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts
Formerly Scottish Rite Temple/Consistory
110 E. Mulberry St., Bloomington

Program: “Appalachian Spring” composed by Aaron Copland; “Concerto for Trumpet” composed by Johann Fasch featuring Rick Leister, soloist and IWU professor of trumpet; “Symphony No. 8” composed by Ludwig von Beethoven; “Dances of Galanta” composed by Zoltan Kodaly.

Background:
The Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra (IWCO) will perform under the direction of Steven W. Eggleston, music director and conductor and professor of brass instruments.
