Background: Duck is one of the most well-known Christian feminist hymnwriters in the world. She has written the bulletin for the Chapel Hour and will speak at the service. The Illinois Wesleyan Chamber Singers, led by Scott Ferguson, associate professor of music and director of choral activities, will sing the anthem.
Duck is the author of several books about Christian worship, including Gender and the Name of God, The Trinitarian Baptismal Formula, and Finding Words for Worship. Ducks hymns are published in many hymnals, including the Chalice Hymnal (Disciples of Christ), the United Church of Christ (U.S.A.) Hymnal, and others in the Presbyterian, Baptist, Mennonite/Brethren, and Reformed Church of America. She has also published two books of her own hymn texts.
