David Steinbrueck
In his 15th season of his second tour of duty as an IWU assistant is David Steinbrueck, who also helped the program from 1987 to 1989. He was a three-year letterman at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. Steinbrueck coached the junior college team at Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, Mo., from 1981-86 and was athletic director for the final three years. Steinbrueck, who works full-time at State Farm Insurance Company in Bloomington, is married to Mary Liz and they have one son (Kyle) and one daughter (Jordan).

Chris Jones
In his first year as an Illinois Wesleyan basketball assistant is Chris Jones, who graduated in 2006 and was a three-year starter on Titan teams that went 67-19, won two league titles, made three NCAA Division III appearances and finished third in the 2006 NCAA championships. Jones scored 464 points (5.9 average) and grabbed 361 rebounds (4.6 average) in his career, when he played on the same teams as his twin brother Cory.

Andrew Gilmore
After a three-year playing career at Illinois Wesleyan, senior Andrew Gilmore is serving as a student assistant coach. A three-time letterman and co-captain of the 2007-08 squad, Gilmore had knee surgery in the spring of 2007 and played in only four games last year, scoring 13 points. In 2006-07, he started all 25 games and averaged 11.4 points (second on team) and 3.2 assists. His career highs were 20 points (Wheaton), five rebounds (four times), and six assists (two games). Andrew was an honorable mention Minnesota high school all-stater for Stillwater Area High School. A political science major at Illinois Wesleyan, he is the son of Paul Gilmore and Leta Herrington.

Mike Salkeld
Sophomore Mike Salkeld is serving his first year as a student assistant coach for the Titans. He played in eight junior varsity games for IWU in 2007-08. As a player at Naperville North High School, he earned two letters in basketball for the Huskies, served as his team's captain and was an all-Dupage Valley Conference academic selection. A business administration major at Illinois Wesleyan, Mike is the son of Mark Salkeld and the late Janet Salkeld.
