To: Members of the Illinois Wesleyan Community
From: Gilbert Dorsey, Chair
Presidential Search Committee
The Presidential Search Committee has begun the work of selecting the 18th President of Illinois Wesleyan University and we would like to update you on the work to date.
The Committee has retained the services of Shelly Weiss Storbeck, with A.T. Kearney, to serve as consultant for the search. Shelly has had many years of experience with presidential searches at public and private universities and colleges. We are pleased to have her join the University in this important endeavor.
The committee has met twice with work focusing on the task of describing the challenges the next president will face and desired characteristics and skills for the position. Shortly, the Committee will engage the Illinois Wesleyan community on these issues.
We would like to inform you that the committee has established a Web site as a communication tool for the search. Future committee updates will be made available on the Presidential Search Web site at http://www.iwu.edu/~iwunews/Search/. Also, if you would like to contact the Search Committee, feel free to do so at presidential_search@iwu.edu
We are off to a good start, and look forward a successful conclusion of the search in the spring of 2004.
