We will present an article describing recent research of the depiction of women, men, and minorities in popular children's films., and then discuss our own observations of these films.  Do you think the "Disney princesses" are positive role models?  What's up with Sleeping Beauty?  How many women do you think are typically portrayed in crowd-scenes?  Do movies with animal characters still make important commentary about gender?   This and more...
