#3. Write out the changes in narrative using no symbols and put the rule number in parenthesis.

e.g. ursu > .... > oso (give final derivation)
1. la u breve se cambia a o
2. la rs intermedial se cambia a s
3. la u final cambia a o

#3 "quadraginta" and "solitariu" - when explaining how/why the a dropped, look closely at the rules for vowels.

#4 when explaining your answers for Yod generation, refer to one of the 4 processes that resulted in the Yod and how that specific example reflects said process. If you don't have good notes, a good place to go are pages 64-65.

#5 and #6.
• These answers are hypothetical, you won't find them anywhere.
However, there is only ONE (maybe two) answers. These would be good to go over in a group setting.
• Additionally, although the directions don't ask you to do this, please write out the changes
as we did in practicing the rules (one change per word). No need to write out the narrative like in #3.
