Spreading Success In addition to teaching in both the Educational Studies Department and the Sociology Department, and conducting research on social issues, Assistant Professor Venus Evans-Winters is actively involved in Promise and Potential and UNITY. Professor Evans-Winters is the faculty advisor to Promise and Potential, which is a partnership between Bloomington Junior High School and Illinois Wesleyan University. Each year IWU students work in BJHS classrooms providing educational and mentoring services. Professor Venus Evans-Winters also works with the urban girls program at the UNITY community center. Illinois Wesleyan University students are encouraged to involve themselves in both programs. For more information, either contact Professor Venus Evans-Winters or the UNITY Community Center.
