Ecology Action Center

The Ecology Action Center (EAC) is localed in Normal, IL and is a walk-in information and environmental education center for individuals, classes, workshops and meetings. Their goal is to promote environmental stewardship in McLean County by educating people about the environment and coordinating communications amoung environmental groups.

Fall Internship 2004:

Issue: The EAC, along with two other organizations, has started Yard Smart, a program to promote ecologically safe yard care practices in the Bloomington-Normal community. However, this program has been somewhat neglected, and many parnts of it are underdeveloped.

Goals: The main goal was to organize the Yard Smart website to further advance the mission of Yard Smart. Hopefully, this website will serve as a beginning for more Yard Smart publicity and a 'push' to further advance the progress of Yard Smart.

Results: Loose ends of website need to be worked on, promotion of Yard Smart still needs to be improved upon.
